GeisslerWista: our history
1903 – Geissler is founded by Heinrich Geissler as a machine factory and iron foundry.
1923 – The company relocates to the current manufacturing site on the premises of a former steam brick factory.
1930 – Geissler commences production of drawn and peeled bright steel.
1942 – The mechanical engineering department and foundry are shut down. From now on Geissler focuses on the manufacturing of bright steel in round, hexagonal flat and special profiles.The mechanical engineering department and foundry are shut down. 1984 – The company is taken over by Günther Lentjes und Dipl. Ing. Kurt Thomas. Production now focusses exclusively on the peeling and grinding of round steel.
1993 – Wista is also founded in Witten.
1996 – At Wista a warehouse and office building are newly constructed.
2002 – Geissler and Wista are acquired by Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH and consequently part of GMH Gruppe.
2004 – At Geissler growing production necessitates extensive rebuilding and expansion of new production and warehousing areas.
2005 – Wista is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.
2008 – Geissler commissions new plants to be able to expand the stock range.
2015 – A new peeling machine for dimensions up to 430 mm in diameter is commissioned at Geissler.
2016 – Heinrich Geissler GmbH and WISTA Stahlhandel Witten GmbH combine their strengths and merge to form GeisslerWista GmbH / Witten.
2017 – The existing warehouse is expanded by 25 m to increase speed and flexibility for customers in future.
